The month of fasting is about to begin. People are saying, Ramadan Mubarak. It means ‘Mubarak’ or ‘Blessed’ Ramadan. The people of the Emirate are saying these words all over the country. Work timings:
In the UAE, people work less during the month of Ramadan. So that they can participate in spiritual and cultural events. Both fasting and non-fasting employees have shorter work hours. The government announces this change for both public and private sector jobs. Most private sector workers get to work two hours less each day. Moreover, Government offices close early. Also, public sector workers only work for six hours instead of eight.
School Schedule:
In Dubai, the time for the schools and colleges will be from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm in Ramadan. However, it will be 11:30 am on Fridays. During Ramadan, schools have shorter days in the UAE. Students who are fasting do not have to do physical education classes. Spring break for many schools in the country may also happen during Ramadan. However, this allows students to spend time with their families. Most schools will closed during the first three weeks of the holy month this year.
Parking:
During Ramadan, there is a change in the hours for paid parking. However, the exact times are usually announced closer to the holy month. Parking fees are mainly applied from 8 am to 6 pm. And, from 8 pm to 12 midnight on Monday to Saturday in Dubai last year. On weekdays residents got two hours of free parking. However, in Sharjah, parking fees apply from 8 am to midnight from Saturday to Thursday.
Iftar meals:
During Ramadan, Iftar is a very important meal. Because it breaks the fast after the Maghrib call for prayer. It is the time to gather with family members or friends and enjoy a special meal. Prayers & Taraweeh:

Availability of taxis:
In the UAE, taxis are available day and night. But during the evenings, it can be tricky to hail one on the street. Because many drivers are breaking their fast. Furthermore, people can use apps like Careem, Hala Taxi, or Uber to book a taxi ahead of time.
