Albanese Shares Engagement Joy on Instagram
Recently, the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, got engaged. He shared this joyful news on the social media platform Instagram.
He shared with everyone that he asked his partner, Jodie Haydon, to marry him on Valentine’s Day. And she happily said yes! This makes him the first Australian Prime Minister to become engaged while serving in office.

Albanese put a lot of thought into picking the perfect time and place to propose to Haydon. He even helped design her diamond ring. But, he is unsure if their wedding will happen before Australia’s next election. However, these elections could take place anytime between August of this year and May of next year.
He told reporters at a short news conference on a lawn outside the Lodge. “We will now have those discussions between us. Meanwhile, I think people would understand, and sort out those details. But we just want to live in the moment at this point”.
He also added, “It brings me so much happiness to share this news with everyone. Moreover, I feel fortunate to have found a partner whom I want to spend the rest of my life with. Last night was a truly special moment here at the Lodge. We could not be happier.”
Haydon also said thank you to all the people who sent their congratulations. Whether they were friends, family, or even people they didn’t know. She told BizMediaUpdates that “she felt very touched by all the messages. Even though there were a lot of them, and found it all very beautiful”.
On Instagram, Albanese posted the photo and simply wrote, “She said yes.”
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s Remarks
According to a news agency, Peter Dutton, who is the leader of the opposition. He congratulated him on his engagement. Dutton prefers to keep the British king in that role. Meanwhile, Albanese wants Australia to become a republic with an Australian head of state.
Dutton jokingly said, “We look forward to our version of the royal wedding sometime soon. I’ll be there, throwing roses out in front of you, Prime Minister. Whatever it takes to get an invite to the grand wedding.”
