Thursday, President Sheikh Mohamed said that public school students' debts should be paid off. A report on Wam, the state-run news agency, said that unpaid dues worth Dh155 million would be cleared as part of an effort to help young people pay for school. The program will help students who live in the country and are enrolled in government schools. It will be rolled out with the help of the Emirates Schools Establishment. It will pay off all debts until the 2023-2024 school year. Empowering Education His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's action shows the UAE community's deep appreciation for giving. It is also part of his plan to help and motivate students to do well in school. The program helps students who live in the UAE and are enrolled in government schools. Their unpaid school fees will be forgiven until the 2023-2024 school year, working with the Emirates Schools Establishment. UAE Government Schools Students who meet certain requirements can go to government-run schools in the UAE for free. These are children from the United Arab Emirates, children with a passport from the United Arab Emirates, children from GCC countries, and children of people who have decrees from Sheikh Mohamed. Children not in these groups can also go to government schools for Dh6,000 a year if the following conditions are met and they are accepted. You can only sign up for Years 2 through 12. The guardian must work for the government, a semi-government, or a local business. The student must get at least 85% in Arabic, English, and math. The student and their guardian must have a valid permit to live in the country. At most, 20% of the students in each class and each government school should be from within the country. All government school lessons are taught in Arabic, and English is taught as a second language. Debt-Free Education and Societal Prosperity Also, the initiative covers debts incurred up until the academic year 2023-2024.
